Nikel Cosmetics Review

Do you want soft, glowy and healthier looking skin?… You need to read this!

I recently had the opportunity to try out two amazing products from Nikel Cosmetics. Founded by Ms Mirjana Brlečić, in the beautiful Zagreb, Croatia. “Nikel Cosmetics has won countless awards for its innovative formulas which include plant extracts and essential oils that work from the inside out, improving the quality of the skin over a long-term basis.” (Nikel Cosmetics website) I received the Nikelnutris Face Cream and the Nikel Cleansing Milk with Immortelle, in my KZN Blogger Meetup goodie bag. Thank you so much once again to Nikel for sponsoring these beautiful products and to Siobhan from Sugar & Spice and Camilla from CJane Wonder for organising the event! I received so much in that goodie bag that it has literally taken me months to try and test all of the products that I had received. So slowly but surely, I’m getting through them all!

Nikelnutris Face Cream

First up is the Nikelnutris Face Cream. This was the first “fancy” skin care cream I have ever had. Before the Blogger’s Meetup, I had never heard of this company before and so of course, I was super excited to give them a try. I like to try a product out and really test it before I can get a sense of what I like, what I don’t like and if it actually works for me. Before I get into that, let’s go through some of the ingredients that make up this rich and nourishing pharmaceutical formula.

The key ingredients in the Nikelnutris are;
  • Jojoba Seed Oil
  • Almond Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Sunflower Seed Oil
  • Calendula Extract
  • John’s Wort Extract
  • Passionflower Seed Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Sweet Orange Oil
  • Chamomile Extract
  • Mandarin Orange Oil
  • Immortelle Oil
  • Myrtle Oil

I have been using this face cream for three months now and I have felt a difference in my skin already. This year, my skin has been so confused with all the different things it has been exposed to and I have been trying to find a new normal for my skincare routine, to get my skin healthy again. Nikel has recommended this face cream for very dry, sensitive and mature skin. My skin is a combination of oily and dry and a bit sensitive to some products. My skin has loved this and has felt so refreshed after using this. I feel like my (skincare) self-care is on point recently. I only started to actually care for my skin when I was 20, which is okay, as I didn’t wear a lot on my skin through high school, but I wish I had started sooner. I have made it a habit to cleanse my skin properly and moisturise and prep the heck out of it for my day.

Look:

The clear, ice cube like packaging made me feel like I was spoiling myself every time I used the product. I love the simplicity in their packaging.

Feel:

It is super smooth, it softens when in contact with your skin, so that it’s quite easy to spread over your face and neck. I found that the texture changes in different temperatures. On a hot day, the consistency is really smooth and easy to work with. On a colder day, it looks a bit gritty and a bit stiff. You have to soften it up before applying it to your face and neck..

Wear:

Immediately after applying the cream to my face, I felt really relaxed and refreshed. I’m pretty sure my skin was rejoicing as it soaked it all up! I would use this as my moisturiser before applying my foundation. It gave my skin a healthy, fresh glow throughout the day. In my night time routine, I would cleanse, tone, use the Cleansing Milk, wait two minutes and then I would apply the Nikelnutris face cream and leave it to do it’s magic through the night.

How To Apply:

Nikel’s recommendation is that you begin your routine with the Nikel Cleansing Milk with Immortelle to cleanse and remove makeup. Next, spritz the Nikel Alpine Rose Tonic with Alpine Rose Stem Cells onto your skin and allow it to dry. Apply several drops of the Nikel Anti-Wrinkle Elixir or the Nikel Evening Primrose Oil on your face, neck and décolleté. Using your ring finger, pat the eye cream around your eye area until it absorbs. Lastly, apply the Nikelnutris Face Cream. This will lock in moisture and add extra nourishment.

My morning and night routine involve both the Nikel Cleansing Milk with Immortelle and then the Nikelnutris Face Cream.

  • I first wash my face with African Extracts Rooibos purifying spot control face wash.
  • I tone and cleanse my face with my Garnier Micellar Water.
  • I then use one pump of the Nikel Cleansing Milk with Immortelle and with circular motions, cleanse my face and neck.
  • After letting the Nikel Cleansing Milk soak in for 2 minutes, I use about a pea-sized amount of the Nikelnutris Face Cream, rub it together on my hands first to melt it a bit and then spread it all over my face and neck. I like to massage the cream into my skin with my knuckles. (I am my own “Ja(y)de” roller.)

Okay! Enough with the Dad-joke level puns. Onto the next product.

Cleansing Milk with Immortelle

Being the winner of the GOLD MEDAL at the World Invention Exhibition in the USA, so obviously the Cleansing Milk with Immortelle was a great add to my skincare routine.

The Key Ingredients of the Cleansing Milk are;
  • Shea Butter
  • Almond Oil
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Chamomile Extract
  • Sweet Orange Oil
  • Immortelle

I was intrigued about the no-rinse formula as I had never tried something like this before. I first tried two pumps then reverted to one pump as it was a little too much product for my face. My skin felt soft and didn’t feel tight at all. For those of you who are unsure of what Immortelle is, it has anti-bacterial properties, reduces redness, soothes sensitive skin and is an antioxidant, which helps repair free radical damage. Doesn’t that sound great?

Look:

The packaging is simple and sleek. I much prefer a pump bottle to a squeeze bottle. It’s easy to use and cleaner.

Feel:

The formula is super lightweight and doesn’t feel tight on my skin. Leaves your skin feeling soft and cleansed.

Fragrance:

The delicious citrus fragrance was a pleasant surprise. It smells good enough to eat. But don’t…

What I love:
  • Cruelty-free
  • Lightweight formula
  • The delicious fragrance of the Cleansing Milk
  • Suitable for all ages
  • Natural Innovative Skincare
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Sleek packaging
