Desires of our Hearts

I was sitting with the Lord last night before bed and I was thinking about my desires. My heart’s true desires for my life and what I want. Then I thought of all the times that I have prayed over my desires and some of them have some to pass. A few days ago, I found all of my old journals from throughout the past couple of years. I started to cry, as some of the things that I wrote about and prayed for are either my reality or have happened since writing it down. I feel that it is so important to write what you are feeling, what you are going through, what you are trusting the Lord for, in a journal of sorts. Whether that is on your notes on your phone or in a book. Then we can find our testimonies of His goodness throughout our life and when we need it the most, we can remember.

I love how The Passion Translation puts it; Psalms 37:3-5. “Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in His eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on His faithfulness. Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and He will provide for you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust in Him along the way you’ll find He pulled it off perfectly!”

We all have something that our hearts desire. Whether it’s marriage, a new business venture, a family home, a raise in your salary, getting accepted into college, peace in the home, the perfect job, better health. Trust in He who is faithful. I have seen it time and time again, He is who He says He is, He will provide what He has promised and He will never fail us or forsake us.

Something that I always start off with, when I’m chatting with Jesus is; You know me, You know my heart. In Psalms 44:21 it says that God knows the secrets of our hearts. Jesus is our BESTfriend, He knows us so well! We can trust Him with anything and everything.

I hope that encourages you today.
